Who We Are
Walt Sherwood began his career as a truck driver, learning more than his routes along the way through the early 60’s. He gained knowledge and expertise in the rules and regulations of commercial trucking, and opened two different permit offices. Old West Transportation and Truckers Compliance Services both served the needs of professional truckers and commercial haulers. By 1992, Walt had broadened his background and range of experience. It was then he opened Old West Insurance, offering a full array of products and services to the transportation industry.
In 2012, Walt retired and turned the reigns over to his Daughter, Coyla, an insurance industry professional with more than 20 years in the industry. Coyla had worked with her father at Old West since 1995. Kimm started with Old west in 2003 as a CSR, and in 2008 received her P & C License, and has been an agent ever since. Let’s not forget our Front office Ladies, Erica, Denice (habla Espanol), and Diane, who are there to greet you when you come in or call on the phone.
